We’re told that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. But… is it? What about singing when you can’t sing? Dancing with almost no rhythm? Speaking a language badly? Making terrible art? Trying something you know you’ll probably never master? Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped being comfortable being beginners. Hobbies became things to improve at. Mistakes became embarrassing. And sometimes, if we can’t be good at something, we’d rather not do it at all. So this week, let’s talk about the joy, and discomfort, of being bad at things. - Why is being a beginner so uncomfortable? - Does everything we enjoy need to become something we’re good at? - Are we afraid of failing, or of being seen failing? - When is doing something badly better than not doing it at all? - And what would you try if you gave yourself permission to be terrible at it? Come chat with June. Bring your opinions, your unfinished hobbies, and your complete lack of talent😌
