In this session, we'll explore one of philosophy's most famous and misunderstood statements: "Hell is other people." What did Jean-Paul Sartre really mean by this? Is the presence of other people what limits our freedom, shapes our identity, and influences the way we see ourselves? Or are relationships essential to discovering who we are? Together, we'll examine questions such as: - How much of your identity depends on how others see you? - Can you truly know yourself without other people? - Are we free to define ourselves, or are we inevitably shaped by the expectations and judgments of others? - Is the opinion of others something we can escape, or is it part of being human? This is not a debate about whether people are good or bad. Instead, it is a philosophical discussion about identity, freedom, self-awareness, and the role other people play in our lives. People of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome. The goal is not to reach a single conclusion, but to leave with a deeper understanding of ourselves, one another, and the questions that shape the human experience. Philosophy Café is an open, community-driven discussion for anyone who enjoys exploring philosophical ideas through respectful conversation. Rather than a lecture or debate, the event provides a space where participants can question assumptions, share perspectives, and think together in a spirit of curiosity
